Coconino National Forest
Park Overview
Located in central Arizona, lies the Coconino National Forest. Northward lies the Colorado Plateau, a high, cold desert of flat-lying rocks and sheer-walled canyons. Southward lie hot desert basins and rugged mountains - the "basin and range province" which includes the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona. From the snow-frosted San Francisco Peaks to desert highlands along the Verde River, Coconino National Forest's 1.8 million acres drop 10,000 feet in elevation and cover a remarkable variety of landscapes. Here you can climb the highest mountain in Arizona, fish in crystal-clear lakes, swim in desert creeks under red rock cliffs and magnificent sycamore trees, float suspended under a hang glider from the crest of a cinder cone, or ski through parks and meadows and ponderosa pines.

Cabins
Kendrick Cabin:

This rustic 3-bedroom masonry and wood cabin is located in the scenic Kendrick Park area. It has wonderful views of the San Francisco Peaks, Kendrick Mountain and the surrounding forest. The cabin is suitable for groups of up to 10 people. Larger group use of the cabin and grounds is possible with prior approval from the Forest Service.

Fernow Cabin:

This rustic 3-bedroom log cabin is located in a beautiful ponderosa pine setting on the Mogollon Rim. Located in a scenic draw, the site is isolated which provides privacy and great opportunities for getting back to nature. The cabin is suitable for groups of up to 8 people. Larger group use of the cabin and grounds is possible with prior approval from the Forest Service, e.g. RV¿s.

Crescent Moon Cabin:

This ranch house most definitely has a view! It is located in scenic Sedona, Arizona. It is adjacent to Oak Creek at the historic recreation site of "Red Rock Crossing" (now named "Crescent Moon Ranch Recreation Site"). It sits near the base of Cathedral Rock. This "red rock" landscape is one of the most photographed sites in the world.
