Hiked about 23 miles of the North Country Trail along the Manistee River in 2007 in summer. Fantastic views of the river and great swimming (the current is strong though so be careful). Trail was varied and enjoyable. Saw other hikers and backpackers but did not feel crowded. There is great birdwatching and native plant life to be seen.

There is so much for an outdoors person to do! Camping, Fishing, Morel hunting, ect. Thanks for the fine up keep on one of our states greatest assets!!
