Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
Park Overview
This park preserves 40 miles of the middle Delaware River and almost 70,000 acres of land along the river's New Jersey and Pennsylvania shores. At the south end of the park, the river cuts eastward through the Appalachian Mountains at the scenic Delaware Water Gap. A one-day auto tour of the park can include waterfalls, rural scenery, and historic Millbrook Village. Visitors can also canoe, hike, camp, swim, picnic, bicycle, crosscountry ski, and horseback ride. Fishing and hunting are permitted in season with state licenses.

Pretty but MANY TICKS
We enjoyed seeing Dingman Falls, Toms Creek and Childs Park, but those places had short boardwalk trails. We decided to do a long several mile hike on McDade Trail, thought it was very poorly maintained and we turned around only after about a mile. Trail is overgrown and we were covered in hundreds of ticks each. So stay off of overgrown paths.

Beautiful River
I have canoed many times on this river. It has little islands in it to camp on. A great place to spend the whole weekend!
